Set Mirage Playing Cards
Mirage V1 Dusk edition playing cards by Partick Kun is a modern deck of playing cards, printed at Legends Playing Card Company with over a year in production.
The back of the cards has a saturated turquoise colour and reminds a night sky, whilst thin and symmetrical lines may immerse you into a quasi-3D space. When staring at a deck closer, one can observe an optical illusion. Pirouettes, circular motions and various flourishes will compliment this deck’s back design.
The deck comes in Mnemonica stack from the box, and the faces feature turquoise elements to fit the back of the cards. Moreover, Mirages have a unique Ace of Spades, Jokers and a special illusion gaff-card.
This deck feels completely different compared to the ones printed by the UPSCC, but is significantly thicker and distantly reminds plastic playing cards. Patrick himself claims Mirage feels like Bicycle playing cards from the 90s.
All decks of this first edition were sold out on Patrick Kun’s website and are not expected to be back in stock. We have a limited supply as well.
You’re looking at the successor of a bestselling release – Mirage V1 Dusk edition, completely sold out on the website of US-based magician Patrick Kun (we however still have a couple of decks left in stock). At a first glance it seems that the new Mirage V2 Dawn edition is different only in terms of colour palette. In reality, producers introduced a new tuck box printing technology, using gold foil on pearlescent paper. That’s why it shines under any type of light. Crimson red colour is prevailing in the second edition, and the lettering and perforated seal look like they have gold coating on them.
This edition features original court cards: on the faces of Jacks, Queens and Kings you can easily recognize well-known magicians Calen Morelli, Eric Jones, Laura London and the last but not least, Patrick Kun.
And now to the most exciting announcement: the backs of the Mirage V2 decks are marked! There’s a link, hidden on the box, that has more details on marking. Patrick claims, this marking system is incredibly practical. Besides, the deck as usual comes in Mnemonica stack from the box.
Mirage V2 playing cards were traditionally printed by Legends Playing Card Company in Taiwan using LPCC’s Classic Finish. Faro shuffles with these cards are extremely easy and visual. This deck feels completely different compared to the ones printed by the UPSCC, but is significantly thicker and distantly reminds plastic playing cards. Patrick himself claims Mirage feels like Bicycle playing cards from the 90s.
Back in 2013 when Mirage was first designed, black color option has always been our first choice. as some of you may have seen from our previous prototype of Mirage. This year, we are extremely excited to bring this color back with new upgraded feature. Mirage Eclipse edition is the BEST edition we have ever produced.
Mirage Eclipse Edition has the same iconic look by Patrick Kun with new upgraded materials from inside out. From the tuck case, V3 features a thick black dyed tuck case with an accent of silver foil stamp along sealed with a red metallic stamp.
Brand new paper stock?
Yes! We worked very closely with Legends Playing Cards to find the best paper we can find that is perfect for both magic and cardistry. This edition of Mirage was printed on a brand new “Cardistry” paper from Taiwan. The cards feel extremely soft right out from the box and hold its shape well even after heavy use. Personally, I am always a big fan of thinner stock deck and I am sure you will love this paper too.
Marked deck notes:
A secret feature was added to this edition of the Mirage playing cards. That’s right. They’re marked! Let’s keep that between us. There is a secret link inside the box which reveals all. It was very important for this marking system to be as practical as possible, and I think we nailed it!
- Optical illusion back specially designed for both magic and cardistry
- Secret marking system that can be read on all four corners. The marking is easy to spot and yet still pass the riffle test! No need to worry about anyone finding out the secrets.
- Fully custom court cards by Tomas Hlavaty
- Comes in Juan Tamariz’s Mnemonica stack.
Printed by the Legends Playing Card Company (LPCC), the Mirage deck features LPCC’s new Cardistry Finish card stock, a super soft and ‘papery’ feeling stock which requires no break-in period. These cards are traditionally cut with Legends’ Diamond Cut process, yielding ultra smooth edges that faro effortlessly from the bottom to top. With a silky coating and quality reminiscent of Bicycle #808 decks from the early 90’s, MIRAGE is perfect for any card enthusiasts sleight of hand, Cardistry, or gambling needs. As is always the case with LPCC, the borders on these playing cards are registered to extremely tight tolerances, as their standards allow for zero imperfections.
For the first time in the Mirage series, the Midnight Blue edition is printed on the premium Bee crush stock with United States Playing Cards (USPCC). From the tuck case, V4 features an embossed blue dye tuck case stamped with white foil. The overall design has been simplified and minimized for a modern aesthetic look.
Just like before, every court cards are completely custom along with the jokers, and our signature Ace of Spades.
As we all know, the United States Playing Cards has always been the preferred option for cardist and magicians around the world. We want to provide the best card handling we can for this edition of Mirage.
Since USPCC offers two extra cards, we decided to include a double facer for your magic routine and to bring back the original Mirage Hyper Card that was originally introduced in the 1st edition of Mirage. The Hyper Card plot has been around for many years but nothing comes close to this version designed by Patrick Kun. The Mirage Hyper Card can be shown completely on both sides and even given out as an impossible souvenir for your friends.
Both. We want to keep the design as simple as we can for magic and yet enhance the motion when performing cardistry.
